"I'm In...."
In Christ In Service, In Worship, In Discipleship
WHGBC is excited by the energy and enthusiasm of its teens and is encouraged by the growth of our Youth ministry.
In 2007, we welcomed Werner Jilg as our new Youth Leader. Werner brings a unique drive and desire to our Youth Programs, with a strong and committed focus on the spiritual growth of our Youth.
WHGBC Youth have begun a "Creative Arts Ministry". This ministry is designed to express creative movements using "props" such as dowel rods (or sticks), fabrics or gestures to interpret lyrics to contemporary Christian Music.
The Youth have also organized a "Youth Praise Team". This ministry seeks to honor God and His Son, Jesus Christ, with their voices and other musical talents.

YOUTH MISSION TRIP - MAY 25 - 31, 2008
After months of praying, fundraising, and preparation, twelve youth and six adults from WHGBC set out on a youth mission trip to the Appalachia area of eastern Kentucky. They left after Sunday Morning Worship Service May 25, 2008 and returned Saturday, May 31, 2008. The group stayed in Cumberland, KY where they assisted the missionaries who live in that community by cleaning, painting and building. They were also involved in hosting a teen night, performing their stick ministry, and witnessing to the local teens who come to Club 180 which is the only facility for youth in that area.

March 16, 2008
During the month of February, the Youth participated in the "True Love Waits" program. This program was created by LifeWay Christian Resources as a Ministry to encourage moral purity by adhering to biblical principles. The program challenges teenagers to make a commitment to sexual abstinence until marriage.
After weeks of study and discussion, 16 of our Church Youth made their commitment by signing a "True Love Waits Pledge Card". The pledge is: "Believing that true love waits, I make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future mate, and my future children to a lifetime of purity including sexual abstinence from this day until the day I enter a biblical marriage relationship."
These pledge cards were presented by each Youth to their parents at a special ceremony during the Morning Worship Service. In return, the parents presented them with a ring to wear as a daily reminder of their commitment.
