Kissing The Boo-Boo's

(Making The Pain Go Away)

When our children got scrapped knees, cuts or bruises, they would come running for Mom or Dad to kiss the Boo-Boo and make it better.  It was as if there were some magic in the saliva glands of parents that would clear up every hurt and make it go away.

But, what about adults, where do we run with our hurts?  Who is going to kiss our boo-boos and take our hurts away?  Well, obviously we would say that we need to run to God.  As the song by Aaron Jeoffrey says

Where do I go
When there's no body else to turn to
Who do I talk to
When no one wants to listen
Who do I lean on
When there's no foundation stable
I go to the Rock I know He's able
I go to the Rock
I go to the Rock of my Salvation

This month our church is emphasizing the importance of the family.  Mom and Dads do help their children with the injuries and hurts in life.  But as a church (the extended family) we should be also help each other by reaching out and kissing on a few hurts of our church family?  There is not only physical pain, but there is emotional and spiritual pain that many times exceed the physical.

Stop and share an uplift personal story with others.  Offer a word of encouragement, write a heart felt note, make a long over-due phone call or visit.  It just may be a way of kissing away the boo-boo's of others.  Remember the Lord has the best in mind for you.  According to Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
